Bill Templin is an Environmental Scientist with the
California Department of Water Resources after his transfer from a similar
position with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board in April
2009.
Bill is a native Californian, raised in the Central Valley of California (Tulare)
until he went away to college.
He graduated from Humboldt State
University in 1973 with a B.S. in Natural Resources.
In 1974 he began a career with the U.S. Geological Survey, as a Hydrologist.
Bill received a Masters in Public Administration (with a minor in Water Resource
Engineering) from Sacramento
State University
in 1992.
Bill remained with the USGS until he retired in July 2003. After retiring from
the USGS, Bill did some water resources consulting on his own before he was
selected as the Watershed Coordinator for the North Fork American River
Watershed. He held that position from June 2004 until October 2007, when he
began his career with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board.
Bill has been an Environmental Scientist with the California Department of Water
Resources since April 2009. For 1.5 years before this position Bill held a
similar position with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, a
position he accepted after his 3.5 year grant ran out as the Watershed
Coordinator
for the American River Watershed Group.
Bill is actively involved as a Board Member on a number of non-profit watershed
and sportsmen’s organizations in the Sacramento
and Fresno
areas.
